New Danish Ambassador to China

After 3 years as Denmark's Ambassador to China, Jeppe Tranholm-Mikkelsen will be moving on to new challenges in Brussels.
During his tenure in China, Jeppe Tranholm-Mikkelsen has been closely involved in a number of political issues of key importance to China and Denmark, such as the COP15 Summit, the signing of a Strategic Partnership Agreement between Denmark and China and the establishment of a Danish-Chinese University in Beijing, and has also worked on a broad range of commercial issues.

The new ambassador to China will be 58 year-old Friis Arne Petersen, who is currently the Danish ambassador in Washington. Ambassador Petersen has had a distinguished and outstanding career in the Danish Foreign Service, serving on the staff of two Danish Foreign Ministers and holding various senior positions as Permanent Secretary of State and Undersecretary.
