We organize both recurring and ad hoc signature events. A few examples of recurring events are: Political & Economic Update, and our Annual General Meeting. The ad hoc events include Exclusive C-level events and Conferences.

Political & Economic Update

The Political & Economic Update is a popular event arranged in cooperation with Danske Bank and taking place every January. At this event, experts elaborate on the state of the Chinese economy and its impact on Danish business operations in China, as well as the political climate in China, and its implications for Danish businesses.

In 2020, the event was as usual hosted by Danske Bank at Kuppelsalen, and more than 100 persons from Danish and Chinese businesses attended the event to get up to date with Chinese politics and economy.

Annual General Meeting

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is our most important event, and a great opportunity for DCBF-members to network with each other, and to get updated on the current state of Danish Chinese Business Forum as well as plans for the future. Furthermore, this event usually also includes a themed session on a relevant topic, featuring speakers and interactive involvement from the members.

In 2020 however, The Covid-19 situation unfortunately prevented us from carrying through the planned physical event, and the AGM was instead successfully executed as an online event with approximately 100 attendees and an exclusive presentation by David Hoffmann, SVP at The Conference Board, on the implications of Covid-19 for Global Businesses.

Our members often face similar challenges when navigating in the Danish-Chinese business environment. Based on this, The DCBF Focus Groups allow DCBF’s members to exchange knowledge and expertise within the theme of the specific focus group.

DCBF Focus Groups include, but are not limited to:

  • Cyber Security / Corporate Social Credit Score
  • HR
  • IPR / Trademark
  • VAT / Tax and customs issues
  • Blockchain to support sales
  • Energy

Facilitating contact between member organizations and relevant stakeholders is one of our primary missions. Our network comprises a wide range of stakeholders, ranging from private companies to public organizations and entities such as Ministries and Cities.

Our stakeholders include, but are not limited to:

  • The Chinese Embassy in Denmark
  • Danish Ministries (e.g. Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs).
  • Professional Associations (e.g. Danish Chamber of Commerce, DCCC, EKF, Danish Agriculture and Food Council and Medicoindustrien).
  • Danish Cities and Municipalities.
  • Danish Universities

Our network is based on knowledge-sharing, and in order to facilitate this in an effective and timesaving way, we established our webinar initiative in 2019, where subject-matter experts present a topic related to Danish-Chinese Business, followed by an interactive Q&A and discussion with the participants.

We have now also partnered up with all the chambers of Danish Chamber of Commerce in China (DCCC) for this initiative, thereby extending and enhancing the knowledge-sharing network.

The initiative has already proven very successful, and several hundred persons from member organizations have tuned in to the webinars to gain valuable information from the experts.

In 2020, we have planned more than 40 webinars.

Examples of webinars:

  • Covid-19 and its Impact
  • Business Establishment in China
  • Developing Effective Leadership Between China and Denmark
  • Operating across Cultures (incl. Remote Management)
  • Social Media and E-commerce in China
  • Salary and HR Trends in China
  • IPR in China
  • Blockchain in China
  • Regulatory Updates
