Radiometer is a global provider of solutions for acute care testing. The company takes a holistic solution approach to meet the needs of acute care diagnostics in blood gas testing, immunoassay testing and transcutaneous monitoring. Radiometer is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, but has global presence with R&D in Denmark, USA, Switzerland and Finland; Manufacturing in Denmark, USA, Switzerland, Finland and Poland and Sales companies in 24 countries. Radiometer’s products are available in more than 100 countries and 2200 are employed worldwide.

Radiometer invented the world’s first blood gas analyzer in 1954 in the fight against childhood polio epidemic. Today, five samples are performed every second on a Radiometer analyzer somewhere in the world.

In 2005 Radiometer opened its own sales company in China. Radiometer China was established with a head office in Shanghai and branch offices in Beijing and Guangdong. During the first year of operation 13 people were employed, and Radiometer’s sales to China doubled after the business was moved from one exclusive distributor.

Radiometer China today has 70 employees and is represented in the whole of China, incl. Hong Kong and Taiwan. Because of the size of the market part of the sales are handled through local dealers, which currently count 40. In some of the most remote provinces Radiometer has set up local sales and service teams to be able to service the hospitals. Since the start in 2005 Radiometer China has enjoyed impressive growth rates exceeding 140% annually, and sales in China have increased tenfold.
