Vestas wind turbines deliver clean energy that supports the global fight against climate change. Wind power from Vestas’ more than 56,800 wind turbines currently reduces carbon emissions by over 78 million tons of carbon dioxide every year, while at the same time building energy security and independence. Vestas has delivered wind energy in 75 countries, providing jobs for more than 20,500 passionate people at service and project sites, research facilities, factories and offices all over the world.
Vestas footprint in China can be traced back to about 30 years ago and today, the Chinese market is one of Vestas key strategic focuses. In 1986, Vestas installed the very first wind turbines in China in Shandong Province and Hainan Province. In 1999, Vestas set up an office in Beijing, which is currently the headquarters of Vestas Asia Pacific and China and has about 200 employees.
To better follow the market trend and meet customer needs, Vestas launched its New China Strategy in Oct. 2014. Accordingly, Vestas has introduced to China its two most technologically advanced 2 MW turbines suitable for mid- and low-wind areas is providing more flexible service offerings which allow for tailor-made service packages to be designed in close collaboration with customers; and is generally increasing customer intimacy.
