On Saturday 22nd of October China wrapped up the 20th CPC Congress. The Congress is a milestone in China’s political and economic development and takes place every five years. At this congress Xi Jinping was approved for a third five-year term as General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party. Furthermore, during the Congress there were many changes in China’s top leadership which send signals of China’s political and economic course and direction over the next five years.

At this webinar hosted by Danske Bank and Danish-Chinese Business Forum (DCBF), we will look at the key takeaways from the Congress and present views on where China is heading. Professor and expert in Chinese politics, Kjeld Erik Brødsgaard will take stock of the changes in the top leadership and present his views on what it signals on China’s political course. Danske Bank’s China economist, Allan von Mehren will talk about the economic takeaways and give his view on where China’s economic priorities and growth is heading. Finally, Chairman of DCBF Tom Behrens Sørensen will look at the Congress from a business perspective and share his expectations for the business environment going forward.
