What's next for China’s role in a changing world? This central question guided Danish-Chinese Business Forum’s Annual General Meeting 2025, hosted at the FOSS Innovation Centre. FOSS, as a founding member, made the event particularly meaningful as we commemorate the 20th anniversary of DCBF.
Tom Behrens-Sørensen, Chairman of DCBF and Peter Foss, Chairman of FOSS, provided the welcome speeches. Keynote speeches were delivered by H.E. Michael Starbæk Christensen, Ambassador of Denmark to China, and Yang Junping, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Denmark.
New tariff announcements just hours before the expert panel took the stage underscored the urgency of this year's theme, “Reflections and Future Trends: Charting China’s next 20 Years”, reflecting on trade relations and tensions, and the implications for Danish businesses caught between opportunities and uncertainty.
In the thematic part of the program, H.E. Michael Starbæk Christensen reflected on the evolution of Denmark-China relations over the past two decades. William Klein, Consulting Partner at FGS Global shared insights into the shifting US-China relations and their strategic impact on Europe. Finally, Markus Herrmann, Co-founder and Managing Director at China Macro Group (CMG), provided an analysis of China’s development priorities and gave his overall advice on how Danish/European companies could consider navigating in this space.
At the formal AGM, two new members were elected to the Board: Palle Kamstrup from Blue Water Shipping and Tania Porsgaard Bayer from Arla Foods Ingredients. Following the AGM, the Board convened and re-elected Tom Behrens-Sørensen as Chairman, while appointing Camilla Jain Holtse and Kristian Teglkamp Flemmingson as Vice-Chairs.
A special thanks to our excellent speakers, attendees, and FOSS for hosting and supporting this year’s AGM.
