The policy direction for 2026-2030 is expected to emphasize technological self-reliance, enhanced national security measures, and a continued restructuring of the economy toward sustainable, innovation-driven growth. Meanwhile, global trade tensions, geopolitical uncertainty, and an intensifying tech race are creating new complexities for businesses and economies worldwide.
This webinar addresses a central question: What can Danish companies anticipate from China's policy agenda in 2026-2030, the period defined by the new Five-Year Plan?

China has most recently sailed up to a top position within FDI. But how are Danish MNCs handling M&As in China and what differentiates the Chinese market from other markets? How are the targets localized and what advantages are there versus organic growth? What are the most common pitfalls and difficulties and what attracts a Chinese mid-market company to sell to a Danish corporate? How does the IPO vs M&A trend look like in the Chinese market?
We have invited Klaus Björkgren, Tony Wang and Sean Ni from Nordic Match to elaborate on these questions and to cover partnerships and Joint Ventures in China. With a mission to promote Sino-Nordic trade and investment, they provide advice to several of the Nordic MNCs for inbound M&As to China, and share their deep understanding of the market and local needs, ranging from idea generation to post transaction services.

Aldo Spaanjaars, Owner of Dragon Strategies, together with Sandrine Zerbib, President of BAOZUN Brand Management & BAOZUN Europe, has co-authored the intriguing book "Dragon Tactics: How Chinese Entrepreneurs Thrive in Uncertainty" (2022), which presents a potent mix of China's four-thousand-year-old history, and management methods that borrow as much from Confucianism as from new technologies.
In this webinar, they will explore a unique apporach to business by analysing everything from the unexpected philosophies of Chinese leaders on competition, risk, profit, and failure to the role of family, which define the cultural spirit of a wolf pack: its observation skills, its respect of the leader's authority, its embrace of flexibillity, and more.

Speaker: Jia Qingguo, Member, Standing Committee of the 11th National Committee of the CPPCC (2008-2013); Member, Standing Committee of the Central Committee of China Democratic League; Former Dean, School of International Studies, Peking University, Beijing, China.
Under Deng Xiaoping, Beijing adhered to the maxim to “hide your strength and bide your time” in foreign affairs, seeking to ensure an international environment conducive to its own development with less active involvement in global politics. First in 2016 in a study session and then in 2018 in a foreign affairs working meeting, Xi laid out his new direction for China’s role in global affairs to “lead the reform of global governance” (引领全球治理体系改革). Reflective of this growing sense of global responsibility and clout, China has been (co-)driving a number of initiatives to reshape the existing US-led international order towards a world order conceived of as a “community with a shared future for mankind” (人类命运共同体), among them the BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), or the latest three initiatives of the Global Development Initiative (GDI), the Global Security Initiative (GSI), and the Global Civilization Initiative (GSI). How does Beijing understand the current world order and multipolarity? What roles and options are there for China in a world where it sees a “rising East and a declining West”? How, and with whom does it intend to reshape post-1945 institutions? And what could this mean for global cooperation and economic globalization? Beyond the key global trading blocs, how does China look at ASEAN, the Middle East, India or Africa?
'Staying in Dialogue with China' is organized and hosted by the Stein am Rhein Symposium (stars) in cooperation with China Macro Group (CMG), The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC), Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce (SCCC), Danish-Chinese Business Forum (DCBF), SwissCham China, Danish Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong (DCCHK), China Europe International Business School (CEIBS and China Netzwerk Baden-Württemberg (CNBW)
