The quarterly Danish Businss Outlook on China (DBOC) has been released for Q1, 2025
Amid ongoing geopolitical tensions, tariffs, and supply chain shifts, Danish companies may be reassessing their view of China.
The Danish Business Outlook (DBOC) tracks changes in sentiment among Danish companies operating in China — specifically, how they perceive the current business environment.
In Q1 2025, the index rose to 52.92, up from 49.44 in Q4 2024. For context, a score of 50 reflects a neutral outlook. This marks the highest level since early 2023, signaling a return to positive territory.
The impact of newly announced U.S. tariffs on China remains uncertain. Over half of respondents expect limited disruption to their China operations, while around one-third anticipate indirect negative effects.
It’s important to note that the survey was conducted prior to the announcement of the tariffs and their scale. In a fast-moving and unpredictable global context, Q2 will be key in determining whether this renewed optimism can be sustained.
