The EU-China Business Association, BusinessEurope and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China are pleased to invite you to join this hybrid conference of the European Chamber’s annual Business Confidence Survey, where Mr Jens Eskelund, European Chamber President, will share the key findings of this year’s survey outlining European business sentiment in China.

Venue
Online and Adenauer Room, BusinessEurope, Avenue de Cortenbergh 168, 1000 Brussels

Background
Since China ended its ‘zero-COVID’ strategy, Chinese officials have been on a charm offensive in an attempt to restore the country’s allure as an investment destination. However, more will need to be done if China is to successfully reverse the deterioration of business sentiment that has taken place over the past three years.

European companies have already begun shifting investments overseas and, faced with growing risks and a more volatile operating environment, many have adjusted their investment and operational strategies. There is now an increased focus on making operations more durable — for example, through localisation or diversification of supply chains — as opposed to capturing market share. With China’s economy facing numerous headwinds, this trend appears set to continue at least into the medium-term.
