China’s cybersecurity and data legal regime evolves in fast pace. In 2021, two important national laws the China Data Security Law (DSL) and the Personal Information Protection Law of China (PIPL) have taken effect on 1 September and 1 November respectively. These two laws, together with the China Cybersecurity Law of China (CSL), constitute a comprehensive cybersecurity and data legal regime of China and will have significant implications for businesses.
