What does it take to build a sustainable value chain from China to Europe? What are the drivers, benefits, pitfalls and risks of sustainability in global value chains? What legislative initiatives affect Danish companies with global value chains, and what can Danish companies do to stay up-to-date and navigate these?
These are some of the questions the newly established partnership, Chinese Value Chain Network, aims to address.
On the 26th of May, the partnership held the first out of five workshops. In this podcast, the speakers from the workshop will provide you with their key takeaways about what it takes to create a sustainable value chain from China to Europe.
The Chinese Value Chain Network is a collaboration between the Trade Council China, Erhvervshus Hovedstaden/Bæredygtige Værdikæder, Danish Export Association, Danish-Chinese Business Forum, Ethical Trade Denmark, and UN Global Compact Network Denmark.
The partnership intends to use its shared strengths and abilities to create a platform which will enable Danish companies across industries to obtain greater knowledge on value chain matters on the Chinese market. This includes how to mitigate risks in the value chain as well as ensure future ability to comply with growing international demands for green and sustainable value chain standards, but also to align with core values including labor rights.
