History might record that China’s re-emergence after its World Trade Organisation (WTO) accession in 2001 marked the highpoint of globalisation; it was also one of the biggest economic events so far in the 21st century. Although many technical methods are yet to be defined, it would be wise for foreign companies, that need to transfer data out of China, to already take steps to comply with the current Chinese data laws and upcoming detailed rules.
