The Survey of Danish Companies in China creates an overview of the activities of Danish companies in China, the opportunities and challenges they face, as well as how the companies see the outlook for their operations in China.

We are happy to announce the publication of the second Survey of Danish Companies in China in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Beijing, the Danish Chamber of Commerce in China and the Sino-Danish Center for Education and Research.

The first survey of Danish companies in China was published in June 2020, covering Danish companies’ activities in China. This second survey provides an updated snapshot of the perception of Danish companies’ activities in China. Among the main findings are:

  • The most common activities for Danish companies in China are related to sales and customer services
  • China ranks as a top-three market for close to half the Danish companies
  • The respondents expected the importance of China to grow so that in two years China will become the largest market for 21 pct. and a top-three market for 63 pct.
  • 83 pct. of the respondents believed that their activities in China were crucial for their company’s overall (global) performance.
  • 58 pct. of the companies have prioritised having China insight or expertise on the Board of Directors

The content of this report is based on a comprehensive survey conducted in November-December 2021. Considering the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the latest COVID-19 outbreak in Shanghai and China an additional flash survey was conducted to supplement the initial findings. The flash survey was conducted between 18 April and 6 May 2022.

You can find the full report here.

This report is published by the Danish Chamber of Commerce in China (DCCC), the Danish-Chinese Business Forum (DCBF), the Sino-Danish Center for Education and Research (SDC) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark, based on a bi-annually survey amongst Danish companies with activities in China.

The data is collected from member companies of the Danish Chamber of Commerce in China (DCCC) and the Danish-Chinese Business Forum (DCBF) with a Danish business license (CVR number).

We thank all DCBF member organisations that support the initiative.
